Working across the Yellowstone and Glacier National Park regions, the Wildlife Restoration Foundation (WRF) works with chambers of commerce to strategically equip park small businesses with gateway town customized bear stewardship signage tools that enables them to “train people not to train bears” to get in trouble because of human behavior. “I Am Bear Safe” means keep people safe from bears and bears safe from people. From their location at the park boundaries, these “Park Gateway Partners” use types of I am Bear Safe signs appropriate to their business mode to reach tourist and recreationists at key invervention points.
