Red Lodge is a heart-healthy community that boasts locally sourced, sustainable food practices, more than 25 parks in the area, including the Visitors Center Park, Moose Trails Park, Lions Park, Rotary Park, Field School Park complete with public tennis courts, a Skate Park, an outdoor Swimming Pool, a Frisbee Golf Course, an outdoor ice rink, the Nordic Cross-Country Ski Center, Red Lodge Mountain Resort and the beautiful, easily accessible Rocky Fork Trail System.  Red Lodge has a public fitness center and a wellness center.  Red Lodge offers dance to all ages and countless other family-friendly sports and activities.  Red Lodge is also working on a community garden this summer and has an annual farmer’s market.  Red Lodge literally has all of the amenities one could dream of and these amenities offer convenience, walkability and safety.  This hometown, friendly experience runs deep in Red Lodge and we want you to be a part of it!

In 2010, a brand new Red Lodge High School was built, complete with a state of the art gymnasium that hosts up to 2000 participants conveniently located at the north end of Red Lodge near the animal refuge, the Beartooth Nature Center.

Also in 2010, the Beartooth Billings Clinic completed the construction of their new facility that is community owned, with decor appropoe to the mountainous, historical region displaying photographs and artwork by the local artists.  They also have a 24 hour emergency room.

A brand new facility was constructed for Mountain View Clinic, St. Vincent’s Healthcare in 2010 catering to a diverse array of healthcare needs as well.

St. John’s The Willows assisted living opened their doors in February 2012 to add yet another amenity to the residents in the area.

There are more than 45 nonprofits in the area and pride ourselves in the very active community of volunteers.  From animals to personal healthcare, the community service organizations make the town vibrant.  There is a true sense of community in Red Lodge.

The population of Red Lodge is approximately 2500.  The elevation of Red Lodge is 5500 feet and is situated at the base of the Beartooth All-American Road, named one of the top 10 scenic drives in America, voted #1 scenic drive by the American Motorcyclist Association in 2011.  Our Broadway Avenue in downtown Red Lodge was also named one of the Top 10 Great Streets in America in 2010 by the American Planning Association.  We are one of the few gateway cities to Yellowstone National Park with the most beautiful way to enter the park by enjoying the 68 mile drive over the Beartooth Pass, through the historical mining community of Cooke City.

Red Lodge was also hand selected by U.S. Senator Jon Tester to be the very first Yellow Ribbon Community in the State of Montana and only number two in the nation.  Red Lodge supports all service members whether residing in our community or just visiting.  The Yellow Ribbon Community in Red Lodge is also the honored recipient of the Homeward Bound Sea of Goodwill Small Community Award.  We were chosen the winner from more than 75 other communities due to the extension and diversity of services and the community network that we offer our service members.
